MY FAVORITE FACE MASKS

MY FAVORITE FACE MASKS

To begin with, I do have a combination skin and believe me it’s a hard one. Since my cheeks are dry and my t-zone is oily I need to find a right product for my skin. Between work and photoshoots, I’ve been wearing makeup almost every day and my skin is freaking out, hashtag breakouts! I have to give more attention to my skincare routine. And face masks are the best way to deeply target your concern. I love pampering my skin with some good face masks, it a kind of therapeutic for me. I am sharing my favorite face masks of all time with you guys, from clay-hydrating-firming-brightening masks. Let’s dive in!

CLAY MASKS

I tend to breakout around my nose and chin area and combating those issues has been a huge concern for me. I tried so many face masks from Glamglow, Origins, Fresh, Loreal etc which were not that bad but I wasn’t a fan of them. But 2 months ago I discovered a clay mask that became my favorite since I ever started using it. It’s Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque, which refines and detoxifies skin to draw out dirt and toxins that can cause clogged pores. This pore minimizing mask purifies skin to unclog pores and smooth skin texture. Clay mask can be drying but with this product not at all, thanx to Aloe Leaf Juice! I use this mask twice a week.

Another favorite of mine is Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Pore Mask. It’s a detoxifying, cooling clay mask that reduces the look of pores, smooths skin texture, and controls oil all day. I haven’t seen a turquoise color mask before and I have to admit I was fascinated by the color itself  so had to buy this. Furthermore, it contains Lactic Acid (AHA) and Salicylic Acid (BHA) to help lift and loosen dead skin cells that clog pores. Its a perfect combination if you are looking for a deep cleansing as well as exfoliating at the same time. I use this mask once a week depending upon my skin needs.

HYDRATING MASKS

My skin is dry/dehydrated so there is really a need to nourish my skin with a good hydrating mask. Current favorite of mine is from Kiehl’s and Fresh.

Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque is a calming mask that helps to soothe, hydrate, and revitalize skin. It is formulated with hand-picked calendula flower petals and aloe vera which is great for calming and soothing the skin. It instantly cools down upon application which is so refreshing after a long day. Its an instant pick me up!

Fresh Rose Face Mask offers same benefits as Kiehl’s but it has some extra ingredients that is good for your skin. Besides aloe vera this cult favorite cooling mask is infused with real rose petals (an average of two-and-a-half roses per jar), cucumber extract, aloe vera gel and antioxidant-rich green tea. Its quite expensive but definitely worth it! I alternate between these two face masks and use one of these masks twice a week.

BRIGHTENING MASKS

We love a brighter and glowing face, don’t we? My all time favorite is from Ole Henriksen, Power Bright 3-Step Professional Brightening System which is so amazing. It literally brightens up and makes my face glowy. Its a professional strength three step brightening system enriched with 25 percent vitamin C concentrate to help brighten skin and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles . Watch out for this if you want a youthful-looking Ole Glow! I use this mask when my skin needs an instant boost.

I have to mention Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque as well for the fact that it instantly brightens dull, fatigued skin. It’s formulated with antioxidant cranberry extract and anti-inflammatory turmeric extract which is really good for your skin. It’s great before makeup.

FIRMING AND OVERNIGHT MASK

If you have been following the instagram and the top influencers, you might be familiar with the next mask I am going to mention about. It’s the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask which has gained so much of love in short time and its actually worth the hype! It’s actually an hydrating mask which can be used as a 10 minute mask, an overnight mask and as a primer before makeup. I tried different ways but my favorite way to use this has to be as an overnight mask. It’s full of rich combination of ceramides, vitamins, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory ingredients that help to combat puffy, inflamed, over-worked skin. And I feel the firming effect as well. I like to mix this with an oil or moisturizer and slather it on my face and sometimes I just apply a thin layer on top of my moisturizer. The next morning I wakeup with the soft and glowing skin. I use this mask twice a week.

EYE MASK

So now what’s the eye mask? Your eye area is delicate and thin so it needs special care. Eye mask helps to awake the appearance of tired eyes with cooling eye contour gel patches. My favorite is Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber De-Tox Hydra-Gel Eye Patches. It provides great nourishment to the under eyes with cucumber extract, aloe, hyaluronic acid and caffeine which helps to reduce the look of puffiness, dark circles, fine lines, and wrinkles. I use this mask twice/thrice a week.

I also love to multi-mask! I will apply a clay mask in the t-zone and hydrating mask on the rest of the face.
